About Peter

I have worked as a mechanical engineer in the commercial nuclear power generation for the past three years. I have worked on interdisciplinary teams as both a Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) and as a project engineer. As a LRE I had to coordinate mechanical, civil, electrical engineers, and craft to ensure projects met both their internal and external milestones. I have proven my innovative nature by developing new a method for determining hydrogen detonations limits in off-gas ventilation stacks in the case of a server accident. The Oyster Creek Hardened Vent Containment System has been approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). I have also worked refueling outage support for multiple commercial nuclear power plants. During a refueling outage the plant is shut down at a loss of one million dollars a day. During these times it is all hands on deck such that work products need to be delivered error free and on time to ensure that start-up is not delayed. After working refueling outages I feel confident in my ability to work thoroughly and efficiently in high-pressure work environments.

As an LRE one of my projects was the construction of the Outage Support Facility at Limerick Generation Station. I was the point of contact for Limerick’s site staff, an architectural firm, and the engineering consulting team. I provide the mechanical direction for the project including, HVAC, domestics water, sanitary sewer and fire protections systems to NFPA code. I coordinated civil and electrical engineers as the contributed to the project.

During my time in the motion control industry I worked in design and manufacturing. I developed prototypes through their complete prototype cycle including sketch, CAD drawing, first run prototype and full functional prototype.

If you want to learn how engineers really get things done, I'm your guy.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
