Barry University (Chemistry, Biology)
I have Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Biology (Summa Cum Laude) from Barry University. I am very passionate about tutoring/teaching and I have been doing so for a long time--since high school. I began tutoring college-level courses in chemistry in 2012. I have tutored courses in General Chemistry (2-semester), Quantitative Chemical Analysis (Analytical Chemistry), Inorganic Chemistry (Advanced), Organic Chemistry (2-semester), Physical Chemistry (2-semester), Biochemistry (2-semester), and Physics (2-semester).
While at Barry, I employed several pedagogical approaches to my content delivery depending on the course and student(s). I regularly assisted the chemistry faculty at Barry with review sessions for their students prior to hourly exams--an endeavor that has been highly praised by students and faculty alike.
Most importantly, I enjoy talking about chemical principles and problem-solving in chemistry. I look forward to using my acquired knowledge and resources in helping students with their chemistry and introductory physics courses.
I hope to engage the learner and make chemistry understandable (and fun).
I was the top graduate in Chemistry as well as an outstanding Biology major in the Departments of Physical Sciences and Biology, respectively. I have received several awards, including from the South Florida ACS and the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honors Society, in recognition of my accomplishments as a student of chemistry. I also scored in the 99th percentile in the ETS Major Field Tests for Chemistry majors nationwide. I look to bring my knowledge and passion towards enabling struggling and high-achieving students alike to reach their desired goals in their chemistry courses.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been tutoring organic chemistry (2-semester) since 2013. I have worked as a teaching assistant for the course by helping to prep the students for their each of their exams, including the cumulative ACS final exam. In 2013, I was awarded the Outstanding Organic Chemistry student by the Department of Physical Sciences at Barry University.
