Florida International University (Biology)
Hello, my name is Jessica. I currently have a Bachelor in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry and Nursing. I have previously assisted with tutoring while studying at Florida International University. I have participated in Peer-Led Team Learning and also the Learning Assistant Program at the University.
My experience goes beyond group tutoring, I have also tutored elementary, middle school, and high school students. I enjoy teaching others and helping them understand subjects better. I feel like I have a way of helping other students understand difficult material or simply material that may seem a tad overwhelming at first.
I did really well when I took my SATs, my initial score was an 1860 and my professor truly taught me how to study for these types of exams. Whether it be SAT or ACT. I learned to excel in both the math, reading, and writing.
I currently hold my degree in Science. I excelled in my science courses and that is what I have always primarily tutored in while studying in the University.
I studied Spanish for 5 years and it is my second language.
I am a very caring tutor, I enjoy the success of others especially when I know I had a role in assisting them accomplish their goals. I have much experience with different tutoring methods specifically because of the tutoring that I assisted with in PLTL and in the LA programs at FIU. Hello, my name is Jessica. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
