I obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology from Jackson State University in 2007. I have worked with at risk youth in jeopardy of being removed from the home due to behavioral, emotional, and psychological difficulties. I continued my education and obtained my master’s degree at Argosy University in 2011. Afterwards, I began working with adults who had been involved with the legal system as well as diagnosed with a severe mental illness. Presently, I am enrolled at Carlos Albizu to obtain my Psy.d in clinical psychology.
I recently began tutoring undergraduate and graduate students who attend the university. Most of the student’s schedule appointments to obtain assistance with grammar and APA. This has afforded me the pleasure of getting to know other classmates as well as obtain additional understanding with regards to unique writing styles of other individuals. I enjoy having the opportunity to help other individuals, especially since most of these individuals are from different countries and acquired English as a second language. Furthermore, some students have scheduled appointments to gain a better understanding of statistics. I enjoy working with college students who are obtaining a degree in psychology. The excitement students experience when receiving a grade or complete an assignment is what keeps me intrinsically motivated to tutor.
I prefer to work with high school students or adults enrolled in a college program. I have more experience with the subject matter that is provided to individuals of these age groups. Additionally, I am more confident with my ability to provide efficient services due to my knowledge with courses at these academic levels. I encourage students to take the time to contact me so that I may assist you in any of the areas that you may be struggling with. I am very open minded and only want to help you improve. I hope that you will take the opportunity to give me a chance to aid in the learning process. I obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology from Jackson State University in 2007. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I currently tutor students to write progress notes, treatment plans, and intake assessments. I have completed clinic hours where I have had the opportunity to complete all the documentation required for a therapy class.
I was recruited by Jackson State University and obtained a scholarship to play for the women soccer team fro 2003-2007. I obtained many awards during my career with the team to include defensive player of the year, SWAC all conference team, LSU all tournament team, and defensive player of the year.
