About Camilo

My experiences as a teacher and tutor come from the final year of my bachelor program. I had the chance to work as an assistant student in 3 Physics courses. This chance was really helpful to improve the skills that I had been learning during the 5 year bachelor program. It was the first time I felt that I can help a lot sharing my knowledge with other students, but sharing knowledge in a good way, working hard and encourage students to do not give up and do their best to obtain the maximum grade.

I have a master degree in Nuclear Physics at the Higher Institute of Technologies and Applied Science and during all my master program I taught several courses for the undergraduate program in Nuclear Physics. I specialize in tutoring Math and Physics, from middle school level until graduate program. I start this year my PhD program in Physics but I want to continues tutoring and teaching.
As a tutor, I usually try to optimize our time and focus in the principal problems of each student. Each tutoring is a big challenge for me because each student has disimilar skills but with expertise and tenancy I motivate the student to do his/her best effort. My tutoring lesson are very interactive because I usually explain the subject to study and then I have exercises, problems and tools in order to the students try to analyze and solve the problems by them self.
The courses I am usually tutoring are Calculus I and II, Physics I and II, Statistics, probabilities, PreAlgebra and Algebra I and II, but I also teach all Math and Physics courses. If you feel that I can help you, that is a good start, without any doubts we will be a good team.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have a strong background in Algebra. I finished with an A all my math courses during my bachelor program and because of this I had the chance to teach (as graduate student) several courses of Algebra. During more than 3 years I have been tutoring all math courses for undergraduate students. I consider this subject extremely important to develop skills in math that it really help to there superior courses as Calculus and Mathematical Analysis.

Calculus

I already did tutoring and teach Calculus I and II. This type of course are one of my favorite and the most frequently course I always tutor. During the last 5 years I have been tutoring several undergraduate students to let him confidence and improve their score and obtain a good final grade in their Calculus courses.

GRE

I have strong experience in all the math subjects needed to pass the GRE quantitative reasoning. I have a master degree in Nuclear Physics and took the GRE to apply for my PhD program. I can give important tips to take the GRE test. Based in my experience tutoring for this kind of test, we can work together to improve your skills and do your best to get a high score.

Physics

I have a master degree in Nuclear Physics and more than 6 years of experience teaching and researching in different branches of physics. During my master program, I already teach undergraduate Physics courses (Physics I, Physics II, Optics, Classical Mechanics and Electrodynamics). I have strong background in the mathematical and analytical tools required to teach these subjects. Teach Physics is general is a huge challenge every time you do it, and in all the opportunities I have, I try to do my best.

Precalculus

I have been doing tutoring and teach precalculus and Calculus I and II. This type of courses are one of my favorites and the most frequently course I always tutor. During the last years I have been tutoring many undergraduate students to let them confidence and improve their scores and obtain a good final grades in their courses. Precalculus is a good course to eliminate the "MATHPHOBIA"

Probability

Probability is one of my favorite tutoring lesson. It is a subject with a lot of application in several fields and it is a powerful and indispensable tool to start the Statistics lesson. I am currently tutoring Probability and Stats at FIU and I have a lot of material helpful to improve your skills and get your goal to pass with the maximum grade. I strongly recommend you to follow me in my probability tutoring lessons and you will see that you will learn a lot with my help.

Statistics

As a Physics major and Master, statistics is a powerful tool to analyze data and make conclusions about your data. I have been studying stats from the beginning of my bachelor program and since that time, I always come back to statistics every time that I have to do an experiment. I have experience teaching Probabilities and Stats I for undergraduate students and I have a good background in all the different test involving parameters as population mean, population variance as well as the comparison of samples. I have been acting a a STATs tutor at FIU during almost 2 years.
