I've started tutoring reading, grammar, vocabulary, and proofreading at a very young age. In high school every Tuesday i would hold study sessions, for English and reading classes. Upon taking two college English credits in high school, as a senior i was able to assist mentally challenged children with their English, grammar, etc. as an extra curricular activity.

Moving on to college nonetheless, I've been exceptionally well known for proofreading papers. My colleagues don't turn in anything without me taking a look at it first. Grammatical errors, citations, and references(In-text/ Reference pages) are my specialty. Final paper, extra credit papers, you name it.

Malcolm X once said "Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." This is the quote that I live by every Tuesday, and Thursday after classes to persuade younger children to believing that their education does have meaning. Although the world revolves around math and science, you cant comprehend none of it if you do not have the ability to read and write. What's better then reading? Ha ha, nothing. Reading a good book is like listening to Beethoven's Piano Sonata no. 23 in F minor opp. 57 while drinking iced tea on a warm Sunday afternoon. You understand the author's feelings by the words he uses to describe his favorite shade of purple, like your able to feel the emotions Beethoven is expressing while he's playing the piano.

The goal is to to help students understand that reading is just as fun as playing there favorite video game. If your looking for success hire me. I allow students to be interested while learning. I am available Monday through Friday from 12 to 6pm.

Microsoft PowerPoint,

Because I've completed my college computer requirements I am skilled with Microsoft PowerPoint. I was assigned as an in class tutor, because I've completed the work a bit early. Upon taking the classes I still have the books, which will be a great help when it comes down to assignments, and unfamiliar material any students crosses.

As you may know. their, there, and they're all have different meanings. As a tutor I have the opportunity to teach children that although a word may sound the same, it can be used in many different ways. And the proper way to do that is to explain the differences between an adjective, pronoun, and adverb.

Proofreading

Proofreading

Now that I'm in college writing multiple papers is like drinking water to survive. Holding study groups is a great benefit because after colleague's write their papers I get to read them and make changes. I catch the small things such as incorrect punctuation marks to the larger things like grammatical errors.

Reading,

Reading

Starting off with just reading 3 words sentences is the building foundation to reading a novel. As an older sister out of three, I've had the experience to sit through small books like Dr. Seuss to bigger books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The look on a child's face as they put words together to form a sentence is amazing.
Spelling,

Spelling

The building block to reading is knowing each word and the proper spelling of the word. Sounding out the letters of a word can be used to help gain the understanding that a child needs to be able to spell a word. Or putting smaller groups of letters together so that they know the syllables, and the sounds that a word makes.
Vocabulary

Vocabulary

Every time my younger brother would bring me a book, paper or magazine and ask me "what does this word mean?" I would gladly respond by saying let's use context clues. Reading the sentences above the unknown word is always beneficial when helping a child learn the meaning of something. If still not able to figure out the meaning of a word, then another lesson is taught on how to probably locate a word in the dictionary: alphabetically.
