About Christian

I have an affinity for helping students in difficult classes because many of them fail to realize they have the potential to perform better. I aim for constructive time management and proper practice of proven solutions during my sessions with students. I recently graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors in Biological Science maintaining above a 3.56 GPA and cum laude distinction. Currently, I am finishing my last semester of the Masters in Public Health in Environmental & Occupational Health degree at Florida International University. Due to proper study habits and expanding my knowledge in areas that are practical to our modernizing world I not maintained my graduate GPA at a 3.8, but expanded my horizons as a graduate research assistant expected to conduct environmental genomic research procedures aimed at understanding how to inhibit genetic onset of breast cancer. I am set to complete my Master's degree in the summer to begin my doctoral degree in public health during August 2017.
My dream is to always learn and the best way to learn can be from your own students who have that fire for knowledge. Challenging students are many time misunderstood and I have the most determination for them as a person to not let that stigma be who they are because anyone can fail it is part of the process of how to learn. I am there for my students through teaching and also as a motivator to vanquish any goals they wish to achieve. If you set a proper study plan and focus on understanding your weaknesses in a certain subject then you have the ability to perform at any standard you wish to set as a student. However, you must be willing to put in the work and sacrifice to be prepared for your academic trials. I adjust my study methods according to what will best translate to that certain student. I have helped tutor many different people over the past few years and consider it a true blessing to have touched so many lives who in part touched mine motivating me to always improve in my own areas of graduate work.
I have been a teaching assistant in two Universities in a manner of just 3 years as a testament to my work ethic to impart knowledge to all my students never quitting on them. in for an Anatomy & Physiology class at Florida State that consisted of over three hundred health profession students. During the course of two semesters year I helped tutor and organize help sessions for students having difficulty grasping concepts in the class. I felt a sense of fulfillment in watching my students improve their test scores drastically over the semester. Furthermore, I helped tutor students as part of a service by my biology honor society. After graduation, I obtained a tutoring position at Club Z Tutoring where I currently help students in subjects such as Biology, Geometry, Statistics, Algebra, GRE prep , and more. I serve as a graduate assistant at Florida International University where I teach a Health Without Borders global health course focused on how epidemics spread, disaster relief, and development goals for a better health future.
I challenge myself everyday to help better the academic standing of my students; furthermore, if they are not content with my service I will not charge them or their respective guardians. Each session is logged by me with a review of what was covered and where the student progress level has reached from the first session. Always, I heed my client feedback in regards to what they feel is most important to improve on. I am flexible with time and always will confirm with my students any sessions we have over the given week. I prefer to have a weekly regimented schedule for my students meaning not one short session due to traveling considerations. I prefer quiet working spaces such as libraries, quiet home, coffee shops, bookstores, etc. However, I am fine with tutoring at any location if the noise is not a distraction for my students. Also, I have become experienced with the online tutoring community here at WyzAnt and look forward to helping students across the nation. Recently, I entered above 90 hours of tutoring al through the help of this wonderful platform here at WyzAnt and can assure that through my background check I am a legitimate tutor. I promise to make each session both a productive and comfortable learning experience where as a team we will conquer your academic challenges. Please read some of the testimonials from my past students I have tutored that can attest to my ability as a tutor. Thank you for your time and interest. Send me a message with your name and area of study where with my tutoring you will soon be on the way to successful academic endeavors.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I am qualified to teach Algebra I because I have regularly used the basic principles of the subject in both my role as a student and tutor over the past several years. I routinely scored high marks in all my math classes involving Algebra such as College Algebra, Calculus, and Physics. I currently help tutor a student weekly on algebra concepts and I am proud to say she has drastically shown improvement.

Algebra 2

I have taken classes pertaining to all the knowledge I gained in Algebra 2. I currently tutor the subject to a few students and they have shown improved results on their exams. Furthermore, I have taken all advanced algebra classes during my time in college.

American History

I consistently have scored A's in classes pertaining to History. I scored a 4 on my AP American History exam which helped me bypass two history classes. I currently am tutoring a student who has shown much improvement in her knowledge of the subject.

Anatomy

I have already been a teaching assistant for Anatomy class in college. I obtained the position by performing highly when I actually took the Anatomy I and II classes. I helped organize and proctor test material for a class of over 300 students in the subject.

Biology

I graduated with a Bachelor's of Biological Science with cum laude honors. I maintained above a 3.7 GPA in my Biology core classes which led to a teaching assistant position in the biology department. I'm a member of the nationally recognized Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society which is reserved for highly competent students of Biology.

Biostatistics

I have completed three courses that deal with Biological Statistics including Biostatistics itself as a Biological Science major. Furthermore, I have tutored pass students in Biological Statistics during my time as a teaching assistant at the King Biological Department at Florida State University. Finally, I have conducted graduate research using statistical analysis of clinical trials where Biostatistic concepts are vital to analyze the data.

Chemistry

I have taken and performed well in chemistry classes in my Biological science major. The chemistry classes I have taken include Chemistry I and II, Organic Chemistry I and II, and Biochemistry. I also have performed labwork in all the aforementioned chemistry classes; thus, I have a practical knowledge of how much of chemistry works. I have also tutored over the past few years several students in Chemistry helping them better understand the concepts involved with the subject.

Economics

I have taken both macro and microeconomics in college scoring A's in each. Furthermore, I tutor regularly a few students in economics with consistent high scores following sessions.

Epidemiology

I currently use epidemiology in my public health doctoral research. Also, I have taken the course subject during the past year having scored an A. The course was a Master's level epidemiology material based class focused on all the concepts of epidemiological utilization in public health.

Geometry

I have tutored Geometry over the past 2-3 years. I scored high in the subject in both my SAT and GRE exams. Finally, I routinely used its concepts in classes such as trigonometry, calculus, and physics.

GRE

I have experience taking and succeeding at the GRE. I know how the test is formatted and what concepts to mostly focus on come test day. I also have tutored people in GRE prep material as a private tutor and helped improve their overall score from their first diagnostic practice exam.

Microbiology

Currently work in cancer genomic laboratory at Florida International University where we are trying to access the role of NRF1 regulation of oxidative stress molecular processes which may help explain the oncogenetic activity which occurs once genetic regulation is inhibited. Microbiology concepts are necessary components to create stock of bacterial DNA to be experimented within the lab. Also, have taken a course and laboratory training in microbiology.

Physiology

I was a teaching assistant in college for an Anatomy & Physiology class comprising over 300 students. I obtained the position by performing with high marks when I actually took the class myself; furthermore, I took a Vertebrate Physiology class in which I passed with an A as well.
