University of Florida (Music)
I graduated in Law in Italy, after extensive classical studies that brought me close to what I always loved: art, philosophy, literature.
In fact, I always studied music on the side and sang playing guitar, and bass. I had rock bands, and performed for family and friends.
My passion for the Italian language was of use to me as a lawyer, but I soon found out that where my heart truly lies is with art, especially poetry and music. So I left my beloved Italy and came to USA to study music.
After years of hard study, I graduated Summa Cum Laude in Music Theory and Composition, and valedictorian of the 2013 class.
Along the way, I have been teaching Italian to adults and kids for Miami Dade College, Societa' Dante Alighieri of Miami, and privately. I taught music privately to fellow students, adults, and kids, on my own while collaborating in several musical projects. I also played classical double bass in the New World School of The Arts College and High School Orchestra.
Today I am working on my musical compositions, and I am the bassist in The Similar Prisoners, an awesome Vintage Rock band.
I am an Italian native graduate; I studied latin, and greek extensively for five years in a very renowned Liceo Classico. I also speak Spanish.
Summa Cum Laude Degree in Music Theory and Composition at UF, valedictorian of class of 2013. Also Associate in Arts Degree in Music Education, with focus on Jazz, and Theory
I love to teach, but what I love most is to be helpful. I like to understand, and explain helping learning; my focus is on building from the rudiments, and develop through appreciation of art and literature. This is my commitment, and I hope you can appreciate it. I graduated in Law in Italy, after extensive classical studies that brought me close to what I always loved: art, philosophy, Read more
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I received a Music Theory and Composition Bachelor Degree, BMA from UF. I graduated Summa Cum Laude, and I was the valedictorian of 2013 class.
I have been studying music for 25 years. I started in Italy privately, and I ended up taking a college degree in composition. In the meantime I played in orchestra, in jazz, latin, rock, and r&b bands. I am also singing in a semi-professional choir. I am mainly a bass player, but my skills extend to doublebass, guitar, and piano.
I am confident that I can tutor in the General Music field.
I have been studying guitar since I was 13. First privately, and then in schools in Italy such as Music Line Academy in Genova. I know Italian classical guitar manuals such as the Carcassi method (which I keep studying). I know a lot about popular music guitar playing: from Beatles to rolling stones, and today's music.
My style combines the basic classical technique, and a more modern approach that incorporates old time favourites, and new songs
I am a native speaker, and I graduated in law in Italy. I have experience here: I taught at Miami Dade College, and Societa' Dante Alighieri, besides teaching privately.
I teach effectively to English, and Spanish speakers; I also have a strong knowledge of grammar.
I graduated in composition, and studied piano as a mandatory instrument. I still study it every day to keep reading and playing up to speed. I focus on classical material, but I am able to teach and play more popular and modern repertoire.
My approach is to incorporate classical and modern elements, to keep it relevant and fun.
I am a singer in a choir, and I formally studied sight singing in College, from which I graduated in composition with highest honors, and as Valedictorian of my class.
I exercise everyday my reading skills, and use them in choir. I teach using repertoire, drills, and manual that I used in college, and in choir.
I am a composition UF graduate with highest honors, and Valedictorian of my class, who is today a songwriter, and band member in original music projects.
I deal constantly with songs: I learn them for the band, I write them and record them on my own.
I am well versed in the process of songwriting from different points of view.
