I was so lucky to find Michael C. as a tutor! He helped me with my college statistics course. He was clear, organized, patient, and knew the material so well. He made everything very clear and gave me good tips and advice for doing better in the course!

He was the first tutor to respond to me. He arrived on time and was very professional.

I would totally recommend him as a tutor, and I look forward to learning from him again! Five stars for sure!!!

I've been meeting with Michael for a couple weeks now and he has been very helpful. He showed me step by step how to solve problems and also taught me new tricks and methods.

Michael was very helpful teaching me the concepts and the basis of my pre-calc and trig chapter material and how to look up the math formulas when open book was permitted.

Before I started tutoring sessions with Michael I was close to failing my Calculus 3 class a second time after dropping out of the class in the spring. My self-study habits were not working and even though I generally knew the material I would mess up the same questions on the test repeatedly. Thanks to Micheal's help I managed to pick myself up through two failed tests and pass the class with a higher grade than I anticipated. Michael is very knowledgeable of all aspects of math and helped me prepare as if he were taking the class alongside me. He is an excellent tutor and I'm very glad he was available to help me pass Calculus 3!

Very courteous, accommodating, and polite. My daughter commented on his knowledge and effective teaching skill. We scheduled another session. I'm confident that Michael will help improve her math score.

Michael has helped my son improve his pre cal grade therefore his confidence has improved so he realizes he can excel in math.

Michael's tutoring expertise is very to the point, and I was able to receive a higher grade on my exam than on previous exams. I look forward to continuing my sessions with him.

Great tutor! Michael was very professional and greatly helped our son with calculus. We look forward to working with him on a regular basis!

I had an accounting class during Summer semester at FIU and it was only about 6 weeks so there was a lot of information to understand in a very short amount of time. I was really worried about the class as I needed a B- or better to pass and I wouldn't want anything less than that anyways. I found Michael on WyzAnt & I had my first tutoring lesson the same week that I found him on this website. I also had lessons with him every single week of the class & I ended up getting an A on my mid-term, A's on all of my homework assignments & quizzes, & a B+ on my final. I ended with an A in the class and I could not be happier about it! I could have never done it without the help of Michael! He was truly a great teacher and made the material so much easier to understand. If you need help in any accounting class, you should definitely take a lesson with him!

Michael helped me with Statistics. What I like most about his teaching is that he makes it simple, so that I can understand and learn; he is also mindful of the person he is helping. thanks Michael.

Michael is an excellent tutor. He is knowledgeable in the subject matter, is clear in his instructions, and is reliable and professional. Highly recommended!

He is very good with critical thinking and ethics, very professional and patient tutor. I will recommend him without any doubt.

My daughter really enjoys working with Michael. She's been getting straight A's in Algebra II since she began the tutoring sessions with him!!!! Thank you Michael!!!

Thank you to Michael, even after just one lesson my daughter was able to understand her Algebra lessons. Michael was very knowledgeable and patient. Look forward to working with him.

I was in a hurry to get one of my students some tutoring. Michael responded very quickly and the student said he was excellent. I look forward to utilizing Michael's tutoring for Calculus again in the future.

Michael is extremely knowledgeable in math and test taking skills. My son has enjoyed working with him very much. He has provided great strategies for preparing for the ACT and SAT tests. He has a lot of patience and helped our son understand concepts he had forgotten or did not master during high school. Highly recommended!

My daughter struggles with math and staying focused. Mike worked with her during a condensed 6 week summer semester and got her through it. I genuinely thought she would have flunked college prior to Mike stepping in to provide her tutoring. Great work!

My son is usually anxious but during the lesson he was calm and listened well. He helped him to see the careless errors he makes before calculating on paper. Thanks a lot!

Michael was amazing. He gave me all the help I needed, had full knowledge on the material, and was very patient. Thank you, Michael!

My son received tutoring in Algebra. He mentioned that Michael was very informative in explaining the steps. Michael was very patient with him.

Michael has been an excellent tutor for my high school son, in trigonometry. I would recommend him highly. He is polite, punctual, and knowledgeable.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Before striking out as an independent tutor, I worked for a test prep company for 3 years, netting me considerable experience working with students on improving their ACT scores. Most of my students see between 3-5 points of improvement in their composite scores.

Lastly, when I took the ACT in high school. I achieved a composite score of 35 (English 34, Math 36, Reading 35, Science 36). Your student will be in good hands.

When I took the ACT, I achieved a perfect score of 36 in the Math section. I also work with students on all of the math subjects covered on the ACT (Algebra 1/2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus) on a regular basis. Furthermore, most of my students see 4-6 points of improvement on the ACT Math section.

Whether your student needs is having difficulty with careless mistakes, difficult questions, working through the section quickly enough, or even just eeking out the last few points towards a perfect score, I can help.

If there's one thing Philosophy majors do more than any other college major, it's quickly reading large swaths of dense text and writing papers based on what they have learned. I got very good at doing exactly that in college, and I know precisely how to help your student apply these same reading strategies to the ACT.

After working with ACT students at an eminent test prep company for 3 years, I've seen every difficulty under the sun a student might have with the Reading section. From misreading questions and falling for trap answers to running out of time and simply not knowing how to start the section, whatever difficulties your student has with ACT Reading, rest assured I can help them solve them.

A perfect score in the Science section of the ACT is much easier to get than most students realize. The secret is that you don't actually need to know any science in the first place to score well because all the information you need to know is already given. The only thing that you really need to learn to do to get that perfect score is how to approach the questions quickly and efficiently and to practice doing exactly that.

When I took the ACT, I scored a 36 on the science section, and during my 3-year tenure working for a test prep company in Miami, I honed my technique into a form that can be instilled in any student aiming to improve their ACT score. Most of my students see between 3-5 points of improvement in the science section. Make yours one of them.

In 7th grade, I won my first regional math competition in Algebra 1. I've tutored Algebra for nearly 10 years now and it is by far my strongest subject.

If you want your student to not only improve his or her grades, but also develop the skills and tricks needed to excel in every math class he or she takes in the future, you've found the right person for the job.

Freshman year of high school was the year I first began tutoring. I was learning Algebra 2 and competing against students in the Tampa area as a Mathlete. As a result, my classmates were always asking me questions about the homework, and before long I had turned my preternatural math skills to work tutoring.

I've tutored mathematics for nearly a decade, and Algebra 2 is among my favorite subjects to teach. If you are looking for a top-notch, reliable tutor who is dedicated to helping your student achieve success, look no further.

I took Calculus AB in my junior year of high school, took Calculus BC in senior year, and scored a 5 on both AP exams. For the past 5 years, I've worked with high school and college calculus students both for cram sessions the night before a test as well as once or twice weekly to stay on top of the material.

If you're looking for a tutor who can help you understand what is even happening with your differential equations, look no further.

In the 3 years I spent working for a Miami test prep company, I tutored several students on the COOP, HSPT, and other tests like them in hopes of helping them get into the school of their choice. I am well-versed in the layout and content of these tests, as well as the tricks and strategies students need to employ in order to improve their scores on these tests.

If you are looking for a seasoned instructor who knows these tests inside and out, look no further.

I took Discrete Math during my time at UM and received an A in the course. Since then, I've tutored many students throughout the entire course, as well as on specific areas including set theory, combinatorics, logical proofs, cardinality, boolean algebra, induction and recursion, etc. A lot of students have difficulty understanding the somewhat arcane notation used, especially since the course is an introduction to higher level abstract math, but I've had much success in helping my students comprehend material and excel in their coursework.

When I was young, I was lucky enough to have some absolutely brilliant math teachers. Not only did they impart the knowledge I needed at the grade level I was in, but they helped me build and maintain the foundation I would need to excel in math for the rest of my academic career.

I don't normally work with younger students, but therein lies the advantage to hiring a tutor of my caliber. Even if your student is struggling in school, I will get them back on track and instill in them the very same skills that were instilled in me when I was young.

I took Finite Math in college a few semesters ago receiving an A in the course. Since then, I have worked with several students on all topics covered in Finite Math including sets, logic, statistics, geometry, combinatorics, and probability. I am well-equipped to help anyone master the material in this course.

In 8th grade, I competed in several regional math competitions for Geometry, bringing home first place trophies on both the individual and team levels. Furthermore, studying philosophy in college honed my already very sharp skills working with proofs, the most dreaded part of any student's geometry class.

I've tutored Geometry for 9 years now and it is easily one of my strongest subjects.

I took the GRE prior to the change in format in 2011, scoring an 800 in the Quantitative section, 780 in Verbal Reasoning, and a 6 in Analytical Writing. I have also tutored students for the GRE after August 2011, with most students seeing improvement of 10-20 points in their scores.

If you need some serious help to get into grad school, or if you just need to refresh your memory on math concepts you haven't touched since high school, look no further.

During the 3 years I spent working at a Miami test prep company, I led an annual 8-week workshop with classes of students at a Catholic girls' school preparing them to take the ISEE. I also tutored dozens of students privately on all four sections of the test, as well as the essay. Most of my students see at least 20 percentile points of improvement in each section of the test.

I earned an A in Linear Algebra when I took it in undergrad. During that time I led a study group, and I've tutored several students in the subject since.

If you are struggling with matrices, vector spaces, eigenvalues, linear independence, proofs, etc. I can help!

I have won competitions for geometric proofs, I studied Philosophy at the University of Miami, earning A's in Symbolic Logic and Philosophy of Logic and Language, and when I took the LSAT and got a 173 (which is a pretty good score), Logic Games was my best section.

However, even if you are just looking to improve your grades (not to become the next great professor of logic), I can help. Logic is something fundamental to anyone who wants to excel in mathematics, philosophy, or law (or anything else for that matter), and I am one of the best when it comes to teaching students how to apply it.

If you keep mixing up the necessary and sufficient conditions, if truth tables have baffled you to the point of losing your mind, or if you simply can't remember all the dozens of possible justifications for your next statement (modus what?), I'm your guy.

I majored in Philosophy at the University of Miami, writing dozens of papers on the history of the subject, as well as arguments with prominent dead philosophers. Most notably, I am well-versed in Ethics, Epistemology, Space-Time theory, Symbolic Logic, and the Philosophies of Science and Language.

I took Physics in high school and was required to take several Physics courses when I minored in Astronomy at the University of Miami. Furthermore, I have tutored physics for nearly 5 years now and am intimately familiar with its application.

Be it free-body diagrams, projectile motion, relativity, mechanical energy, optics, waves, torque, or magnets that are vexing you, I can help.

I've played card games of all kinds since I was young, and am familiar with all kinds of poker. I won the Duke University Poker Tournament in 2004 and continue to play poker weekly with friends.

Whether you're completely new to the game, or an veteran seeking to hone their skills, I can help.

I have a solid background in coding in Python, as well as with solving computer science problems in general. I've taught total programming beginners as well as seasoned veterans of other languages that are looking for another skill to add to their toolset.

Whether you need help finding bugs or optimizing high-level abstractions, or you just want to learn how to read and write source code, Python is the perfect place to start, and I'll be happy to guide you on the way.

I scored a 780 on SAT Math in my junior year of high school, and went on to work for an SAT test prep company for 3 years. This experience has led me to develop and perfect the techniques that can allow any student get a perfect 800 on the math section of the SAT.

The Writing section of the SAT is the easiest of the three sections to improve, and I can help your student do exactly that. When I took the SAT in high school, I scored a 740. Since then, I worked for a test prep company specializing in the SAT for 3 years, honing my approach to all three sections of the test.

I know this section inside and out, both multiple choice questions and the dreaded essay. Most of my students see upwards of 100 points of improvement on this section alone, so contact me and your student will achieve the score they need to get into the dream school they want.

I got a 5 on my AP Statistics exam in high school and have tutored about a dozen students in both AP and college statistics classes (including stats geared towards accounting, psychology and sociology majors).

If you're having trouble keeping the numbers straight, I'm the one to call.

I graduated the University of Miami with a BAC in Motion Picture Production, working on several short films and projects in the process. My main focus was in video and audio editing, but I also took courses in screenwriting, directing, and cinematography. I also worked for the Digital Media Services branch of Richter Library, assisting students working with Final Cut and Adobe Suite.
