About Paul

My passion for teaching comes from my own love for learning. As an Ivy-League graduate, high school math teacher, and experienced tutor, I understand the importance of education. It is a great and fulfilling personal investment. Academic success also provides opportunities to achieve personal goals, and I have made it my goal to help others be successful in their journeys.

I specialize in tutoring the following standardized exams: SAT, ACT, PERT, GRE Math, and GMAT. Personally, I have scored in the top percentiles of the aforementioned exams. I am also very patient and knowledgeable about working with different types of learners. My goal is to challenge students enough to develop their thinking abilities, but assist them as necessary. While at Brown University, I tutored over 100 peers in Calculus and Economic courses- each passing and most excelling in their respective courses. I was an all-conference football and track athlete in college, but my greatest achievements on campus were as a tutor. Most of the students I worked with went on to excel academically and now professionally in their respective fields.

I taught SAT courses for the leading test prep company in the world for several years. I also taught upper level math courses and SAT Prep at a high performing charter school for the past three years. During this time, many of my students made great gains and performed very well on PSAT, SAT, and ACT exams.

Through my experience working for the best test prep company and teaching at a top school, I've learned every strategy and resource available to help students make great gains in their score.

I hold myself to a high standard, so I do not charge for any session that you are not satisfied with. I also have a fairly flexible schedule and free online resources, similar to those used by expensive test prep companies, to enhance your studying experience.

I look forward to helping you achieve success!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Football

I am qualified to coach/instruct in football because of my experience. I played in high school, college, and professionally. I specialize in the Wide Receiver position and speed training.

GMAT

49 Quantitative GMAT subscore- Feb. 2013
800 Quantitative GRE subscore- Nov. 2010

SAT Math

I am qualified to tutor the SAT because I have experience working with an SAT prep organization and experience preparing students for the exam as a teacher. During this time, I've helped hundreds of students significantly increase their scores. Furthermore, I've had students test in the top percentiles.

Excellent teacher — Paul is a patient, friendly person with an eye for numbers. I just started prep for the GMAT and haven't looked at math problems in years -- his background as a teacher was particularly helpful. ...
