Hello! My name is Victoria, and I am 28 years old. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry. I love to learn, and just recently found that I would love to teach. My goal is to become a professor. To be honest, I have not tutored before; however, everything in life is a learning experience. I am knowledgeable in various subjects, and what I do not know or may have forgotten, I will learn again and pass on what I've learned. I enjoy helping others understand solutions to a problem in a way that they can relate, i.e., through analogies or fun examples. I am honest and a hard-worker who is serious about education.
I will begin the first tutoring session by asking the potential student what area of which they are have difficulty in and why. Then I will ask the student what are their hobbies and/or interest(s). I will then try to help her/him understand the material in the way I was taught, and if that isn't understood, then I will try to relate it to some of their interests. As stated earlier, everything is a learning experience. The student will be learning their material, and I will be learning how to become a better teacher. The end-products will be a student who no longer has difficulty, and a tutor who is more experienced in order to help others. Hello! My name is Victoria, and I am 28 years old. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I tutored an AP Chemistry student during his last semester of his last year of high school. He was making a D average on all of his exams. I helped him go from a D to a B average. With my help, I was able to help him raise his grade, which allowed him to graduate.
