IAE de lyon (corporate finance)
Johnson and Wales University, Providence RI (MBA)
My name is Jamal, I am a full time employee in a local bank in Warwick RI where I started my new position on October first 2012 after I graduated from Johnson & Wales University last spring by successfully getting an MBA in Global Business Leadership with a concentration in Financial Management. Furthermore I got a Master's in Corporate Finance from Institut d Administration des Entreprises Jean Moulin University in Lyon France on June 2008 which enabled me to enhance my technical and leadership skills in accounting, financial reporting and control, portfolio management and definitely develop my communication skills depending on the audience and the specific segment I intend to target.
On a separate note, I am a native French and Arabic speaker, both languages where I had many opportunities to consolidate my writing and speaking abilities through master thesis, speeches, presentations during 17 years of studies within the French and Moroccan educational system. Moreover, I have permanently shown my passion and enthusiasm for tutoring since I was in high school where I developed a natural way to tutor groups of classmates that needed additional support in order to get better grades. My way as a successful tutor actually focuses on making student enthusiastic and excited about the subject I am teaching either French, Arabic, accounting or finance which is the most adequate technique for students to have good grades and naturally pass the class.
I had a very interesting experience as a mentor at Mary E Fogarty Elementary school and also Veazie Street Elementary school where I had to prepare a lesson every trimester focusing on different topics regarding my country of origin. As a tutor, I always start a short discussion with my students to make them overcome any sort of hurdles linked to communication issues. Furthermore, I have always been a tutor at Johnson & Wales University where I was very happy and pleased to help out my fellow classmates or friends constantly improving their level, getting more enthusiastic to significantly increase their performance and consequently getting better grades.
All in all, beyond the fact that I am a perfect French and Arabic speaker, I consider myself a very good listener and have attention into details, which are essential qualities when dealing with younger students or even with college students. I am very confident that my previous experience tutoring classmates, friends and kids in elementary schools over Rhodes Island will help me out to be a great tutor in the 4 subjects I have mentioned.
Together, we are going to build cultural bridges, and show a unique approach to deal with students, by continuously reminding them about time management issues, and the goals we have set up together prior to starting the first lesson. Please don't hesitate to contact me for further information or any kind of inquiry.
Jamal Dear students/parents,
My name is Jamal, I am a full time employee in a local bank in Warwick RI where I started my new position on October first 2012 after I graduated from Johnson & Wales University last spring by successfully getting an MBA in Global Business Leadership with
So far I found Jamal extremely easy to work with. He is very knowledgeable on the subject he is teaching me (Arabic). He answered all of my questions and I felt very comfortable asking them. I feel like I learned a lot from him in just one tutoring session. Thanks Jamal!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Prior to getting my MBA in financial management where I mastered in advanced accounting, cost analysis, financial reporting and control among other subjects, I had the great opportunity to get a master's in corporate finance from IAE de Lyon in France where I studied accounting and finance according to IFRS--International Financial Reporting Standards--that helped me to develop a deep critical thinking and sens of analysis in order to efficiently read and analyze financial statement and disclosures according to US GAAP.
I also had great experience tutoring group of classmates and friends who were seeking better understanding of accounting principles and the importance of accounting as a dashboard that indicates financial soundness of a company.
Arabic is one of the most exciting and attractive languages. I am perfectly fluent in writing, speaking, and also teaching Arabic as a professional tutor due to my strong educational background in Arabic that I have learned and mastered during 15 years of my academic curriculum. I had great professors and educators whom have taught me Arabic philosophy, arts and before that, advanced grammar. I also had great opportunities to show my skills and passion in Arabic through teaching my French and other European friends regardless of their knowledge of Arabic or Arab culture. I believe that the most amazing moment is when you see your students reading and learning a language with completely different alphabets and characters that starts from right to left! My enthusiasm, professionalism and passion to teach Arabic will enable students to learn this amazing language thoroughly and efficiently.
Bonjour! French, or Moliere's language, is an artistic language that I had the opportunity to learn and enhance with Arabic since I opened my eyes to this world! I grew up as a student of the French educational system, so naturally all the programs and curriculum were in French. I also graduated from IAE de Lyon Universite de Jean Moulin III where I got a master's in corporate finance and management. My professionalism, dedication and passion are my cornerstone that enable me to teach with enthusiasm and pragmatism. I also had opportunities to tutor friends and classmates while preparing my MBA in financial management at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI, and it has been a great experience where I had to show my educational methods and sense of communication.
