Columbia University (PhD)
For many years, I was a professor of Classics (Latin, Ancient Greek, ancient literature in translation, ancient history) at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. My PhD is from Columbia University.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. As a professor, I taught elementary and advanced courses in the ancient Greek and Latin languages, ancient Greek and Roman literature in translation, and ancient history. My specialties, on which I wrote a book and many articles, are the ancient epic (the Iliad, Odyssey and Aeneid) and Greek tragedy.
I am eager to tutor beginners or more advanced students in Ancient Greek. I have a PhD in Classics from Columbia University. From 1974 through 2000, I was a professor of Classics at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. I taught courses at all levels of ancient Greek. Classics journals have published many articles that I wrote on aspects of ancient Greek literature.
I am eager to tutor both beginners and advanced Latin students.
