I have a BA in English and Latin from New York University, an MA in English and Remedial Education from Columbia University and a New York State and New York City teaching license. For over three decades, I have been teaching and tutoring students of all ages and all levels of English competence, including non-English speakers.

My specialties are reading fluency and comprehension, vocabulary enrichment, and English as a second language. I also teach my students how to write clearly, concisely, and coherently. I include study and organizational skills in my teaching, since my goal is for my students to become independent learners.

After I pinpoint problem areas, I use interactive computer programs on which students practice the skills I am teaching. These programs make lessons more rigorous and enjoyable.

When you sign up for lessons with me, you get not only a tutor, but a mentor as well. Your success is just as important to me as it is to you.
