“**Excellent tutor for math/economic calculations**”

Math and economics can be difficult - but they don't have to be. To understand them takes curiosity, a willingness to learn and a tutor who's ready to guide you through the maze.

I'm a young mathematician who loves teaching and knows that the secret to scoring high on the SAT, ACT and GRE isn't mindless memorization. It's all about

Samuel was very excellent in assisting with my dilemma with my economics course. I much stress during the course and needed someone to help me through mental blocks. Samuel is very professional in his approach and I would definitely recommend his service!

He was great, we went over Newton's second law to determine acceleration and net force, and a few other things. He was patient and explained even the most basic concepts clearly.

Samuel helped me review some of the basics of Trig. He was polite and courteous. He helped me to understand some concepts. I did well on a quiz after our session.

Samuel is a math major. He really knows his stuff and knows how to teach what he knows. He will work with you and cares about your doing well. Would recommend him to anyone.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have studied calculus at the university up to and including real analysis, complex analysis and functional analysis. I also have a lot of experience tutoring students in calculus an emphasis on calculus 1, 2, 3 and business calculus.

I took the standard discrete math course that covers sets, logic, relations, functions, combinatorics, and graph theory. I've also taken specialized courses in combinatorics, axiomatic set theory, graph theory, and number theory. I have then gained experience tutoring discrete mathematics by helping many computer science majors pass this required course. It is this experience that has helped me to develop my ways of explaining the various concepts contained in the course.

While studying for my mathematics major I developed an interest in mathematical economics and took enough economics classes to earn a minor in the field. I studied such topics as econometrics, game theory, international trade and growth and development. I've subsequently helped many students with economics.

I have taken several courses in modern algebra. I earned an A in the standard linear algebra course that covers matrices, systems of linear equations and vector spaces. Following that I took two upper division courses in abstract algebra. The later of these courses covered modules over rings that are an extension of vector spaces. I have also tutored this course many times.

I've had a senior level mathematics course on first order mathematical logic that covered statement and quantifier logic as well as the notable metatheorems on completeness and consistency. I've also studied the philosophy of logic including theories of reference and meaning. And I have volunteered as a logic tutor for the philosophy department's introductory logic course.
