I am a freelance musician and music teacher who also enjoys tutoring. I have four degrees in music and have an extensive background in writing (I have written a doctoral dissertation and a master's thesis), and have previous tutoring experience.
My tutoring method begins with the student and I discussing his or her academic goals. Then we form a study plan in order for the student to achieve their goals. I am a firm believer in time management. I believe in order to be successful in academics, it is important to set aside time each day for focused, uninterrupted study. This does not mean that the student has to give up extracurriculars or sacrifice valuable time with family and friends; it means that the student must be diligent about using their time wisely. Some days there will be more time, and other days their will be less time depending upon the student's schedule. What matters is that the student understands how to use the designated, available time to to focus on their studies

Having good study habits early on is key to a successful academic future, and I can help you achieve your goals! I am a freelance musician and music teacher who also enjoys tutoring. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
