Hi future/current nurses! My name is Katia, I am currently working in an intensive care unit with experience in neuro, cardiovascular, medical, and trauma units. I have my BSN and graduated nursing school as a Summa Cum Laude with a 3.95 GPA. I also teach undergraduate nursing students at Florida International University during simulation teaching days, where I guide them through simulations and go over assigned clinical topics for the day. I provide information to students regarding physical assessments, pharmacology, bedside manners, safety, communication, pathophysiology, etc. I like to create a safe space for students to learn and ask as many questions as possible.
Being a recent graduate in the last two years, this has helped me guide nursing students more accurately as nursing school content is still fresh in my brain as well as the NCLEX! I believe this is beneficial to nursing students as I have recently been in their shoes and know the tips and tricks that worked for me and some of my class mates as well.
I graduated from my nursing program as Summa Cum Laude in my class and I scored in the 98.75th percentile nationwide for the HESI RN Exit Exam. Being that I also have experience teaching nursing students as a simulation facilitator, I feel very qualified to tutor anatomy, pharmacology, physiology, etc. I have a strong understanding of these topics not only from nursing school but from experience as an ICU RN.
Being that I took the NCLEX approximately two years ago now, I still remember the experience clearly and would be able to help current nursings students prepare for the NCLEX appropriately. I passed my NCLEX on the first try only a week after graduation. I was very prepared for this exam and would love to teach others how they can do that as well!
Please feel free to message me if you have any questions or want to schedule a session! I would love to share my knowledge with you and help you prepare for this journey in becoming a nurse! :)
