I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a minor in art history from one of the best art schools in the country. Consistently ranked in the top ten, the program there is amazing and I want to share the creed of individuality and creativity. We learn a lot about ourselves through the practice of art. Finding an honest mentor that can help you to uncover what you love and who you may be, can go a long way in preparing one's self for the real world.
My focus is in glass, such as making beads, blowing glass, casting and fusing, mosaics, and stained glass.I paint in oils though I have nothing against water based media. The process of research is paramount to acheiving successful art. Studying contemporary artists as well as the "Masters" will be a large part of my teaching agenda. Let me say that I do not neccessarily always follow agenda because I believe spontanaeity to be equally important in making art. Open mind is beautiful.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BFA and had to take 2 semesters of drawing. Any project that I do starts with a sketch. I like to use charcoal and graphite.
Yoga is an age old practice for finding peace within. There are eight limbs to yoga, each limb progressing to enlightenment. Although there are many types of yoga, there is not just one way. Enlightenment can be achieved through the practice of asana (physical postures), prayer, doing for others, song, breathwork, and meditation. We usually come to yoga to find peace or to heal our bodies from pain or stress. Being so multi-layered, everything else falls into place once we pay attention to our bodies and what they are saying to us. My duty as a yoga instructor is to offer a safe space for students to learn the postures and to be there present for anything else that happens.
I have been teaching for eleven years and practicing for seventeen. The power of this practice shows up in helping us to move through this life lightly, with generosity, and respect for all beings.
