I am person who loves language. I know there are some other people out there like me who would like to improve their skills. I also know that language learning, speaking, and writing is not everyone's forte. I have been a high school teacher of Spanish for 9 years. I like to find alternative ways for student to learn Spanish according to their learning styles. I have taught from Novice Spanish all the up to level 4 Spanish. I have a lot of experience with honors students, special education students and all students in between.
I have been a private tutor for almost as long as I've been a classroom teacher. The simple act of getting one on one time to improve your skills is something that can be very beneficial to any student. I have tutored students at the elementary level, high school level, and adult level in both Spanish and English as a second language. In the past, 100% of my students have made significant improvement!
My Master's degree is in Foreign Language education. I'm a native speaker of English with excellent writing skills, grammar, and public speaking strategy. I have been able to coach students with fears through public speaking. I have a blog, I write a lot and I'm an avid reader. This has allowed me to work with teaching English to ESL students, with speaking reading and writing. I have taught English skills to students from kindergarten to adults. The skills I have to help people with proofreading, writing, and public speaking can for foreign languages are the same skills needed for those who only speak English
I understand 4 languages because I became exposed to them at a young age. I'm fluent in English and Spanish. My major in college was Spanish at Rutgers university.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been public speaking for 9 years as a high school teacher. Many of my students come into my class with a fear of public speaking when it comes time to present projects to the class. I have been able to help several students get over their fear of public speaking not only in their native language, but also public speaking in the target language in my Spanish class. I use different methods and strategies to help the students feel comfortable speaking and have had much success with them. I also am called upon to do a lot of voluntary public speaking myself for my school and organizations associated with my school.
