Math and science are life-long interests of mine, through high school my studies focused on engineering.
I graduated from my High School's AeroSpace Engineering magnet program. This program involved 4 years of engineering coursework, an internship with PEO-STRI, and a dedicated research project. I have competed and won first place in multiple SECME events, namely the math competition and glider event. Following high school I earned an A.S. in Sports Medicine at Seminole State College, before studying to become a licensed massage therapist. As a life-long student, I currently attend classes to pursue a B.S. in Health Science online.

While studying to practice Massage Therapy, I became a tutor to support those struggling in their studies of anatomy. Due to my Sports Medicine background, I was able to assist others in passing their licensing exam. Shortly after, I began tutoring part time for several mobile (in-home) tutoring companies. Throughout this time, I developed my understanding of how to assist students; Understanding the issue at hand, and listening to students are top priorities.

Depending on the issue, students may not be able to vocalize their confusion. Defining the issue a student faces is the first step in our sessions. After identifying the roadblock, my focus is to fill any missing areas. Then, focus shifts toward reviewing and re-enforcing with supporting material for the road ahead. This provides a structure for each session, remaining focused on success in the present and future. Expect sessions to be centered around your goal, incorporating material to support. Often , issues begin prior to surfacing, requiring a backpedal through the topics. This is meant to foster a student's fundamental understanding of the material ; It gives room for confidence to bud. Similarly, most topics in science and math require recollection in the next semester or year of class. By providing examples that are not limited to the scope of their current studies, students are given a "sneak peek" of what comes and next, and why this information is necessary. Each session focuses on the immediate difficulty a student faces, while overall building confidence within the subject to increase independence.

Thank you for reading! I look forward to supporting your studies of math and science!
