I have valued education since I was a child and have taken my education seriously. I did well throughout my grade school years and went on to receive three college degrees: a Bachelors in Business Administration and Psychology, and a Masters in International Business. Although I have received my college degrees, I continue to pursue knowledge and remain curious. I personally enjoy learning about the world around me, especially nature, animals, Science such as astronomy, geology marine biology, meteorology, political science, history, and social sciences.

I enjoyed connecting with people with similar intellectual curiosity and desire to learn and understand the world around them. I look forward to assisting you.

I have worked in the finance/accounting sector for most of my 19 year career. In my work as a financial planner, financial aid advisor, and accounting specialist, I work with calculations, attention to detail, and deadlines on a daily basis.

I took three years of Spanish in high school and enjoyed every year. In my first job out of college, I lived in a city and worked at a job with a large Hispanic population which gave me the motivation to better educate myself in the language. By focusing on vocabulary, grammar, and writing gave me a better understanding of the English language. Even though Someone is a native English speaker, I believe studying another language can help you better understand the rules and format of the English language by comparison.

I do tutor with another agency and my approach is to actively listen and ask questions to gauge the student's current understanding and struggles. I customize my questions to match their skill set and understanding so they are not bored or overwhelmed and frustrated. First, I like to ask how much of the material in question they understand and try to use relate-able examples to guide them to correct answers and clarity on the topic. I also like to ask questions about the problem in hopes that they will have a gradual or sudden guidance to the correct answers.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns with your math or grammar homework, test preparation, or just wish to get ahead. I feel one of the most honest things a person can say is “I don’t know” and help find the answer together. That is what I hope to do with my students as I do with any interactions.

For nearly 20 years, I have worked in financial services or accounting positions. I have grown accustomed to facing and solving basic algebra problems such as in financial planning, financial aid, retail management, and accounting for a law office. Even in personal finance, I see the benefit of understanding Prealgebra and solving for unknowns in budgeting, home projects, and even grocery shopping.
