Hello, my name is Brooke G. I have been teaching since 2008 in both Florida and Washington State. I have taught for Citrus and Hernando County Title I Schools (5 years) and outside of Seattle for a Non-Profit organization (2 years). I have taught Kindergarten, second, third, and fifth grades. I enjoy working with a variety of ability levels and encouraging each child to reach their full potential. I am currently a certified teacher and working for a school in Hernando County.
I have participated in after school tutoring for third and fourth grade students for the last three years where I work. In addition I have also tutored students independently for the last two years, including students with auditory processing, Autism, and ADHD/ADD/OCD. I am ESOL Endorsed and enjoy working with ELL learners.
I have extensive training in Project Read - forming a strong phonics foundation. My students are the highest reading achievers for my current grade level with the largest amount of student gains. I enjoy finding a common love with my students and base reading on their interests.
I have worked to create lesson plans for my team based off of Common Core and The New Florida Standards. I have helped develop and create grade level appropriate EOC's in both reading, math, science, and social studies.
I have been an elementary teacher for 7 years, going on 8. Prior to that I spent two years interning at various schools and substitute teaching. I am very flexible and easily adapt to change and needs. I enjoy learning the most up to date educational trends and am not afraid to try new avenues of learning.
I have an extensive training in Project Read. Through Project Read there is a great deal of letter sounds and movement. This also helps with hand/eye coordination, handwriting, and sentence structure.
Brooke hasn’t set a schedule.
