I have lived in Florida for two years, coming from Ft Leonard Wood, MO in 2017. I taught second and third grade at a local charter school. I am familiar with Florida State Standards, SAT 10, county portfolios, and the 3rd grade ELA/Math FSA.

I have a BA in Psychology/Sociology, MEd Early Childhood Special Education, and I hold a Doctorate in Education, Instructional Technology from Nova Southeastern University.

I have two daughters. The oldest is attending the University of Kansas for Music Therapy. My youngest will graduate from Largo HS/ExCEL program in 2020. I am an accomplished violinist and enjoying playing local ensembles. Living in Florida is amazing and I am at the beach, festival or park as much as possible.

I take a positive approach to math. I employ a variety of strategies that will help students understand fundamental concepts of math.

I make connections to real world problems and solutions. I encourage exploration of topics that interest the student.

I have my ESOL and Reading endorsements. I have experience with small reading groups and one on one turoring.

I am so excited to have the opportunity to tutor learners of all ages. I believe that all students can learn when given the appropriate support and guidance. A teacher or tutor's primary goal should be to teach problem solving and critical thinking so the student can move on to independent work.
