I just love math and teaching. My favorite subjects are Algebra and ACT/SAT prep. When I taught SAT prep at Countryside High School, my students had significant increases on their SAT scores. My current areas of focus are the new standards in secondary math (both at the middle and high school levels), the changes to the new SAT which started with the March 5, 2016 test, and making a student study guide for the ACT. Whether you're taking the SAT or the ACT or preparing for college placement tests, my test taking strategies will be a great resource for you!
I have over 20 years of teaching experience and many hours helping my students before and after school. Since being retired, I have been tutoring in my home in Belleair Bluffs (or yours or at the local library).
I totally understand how Algebra can be so challenging! That's why I chose to teach it. All my experience has helped me really understand the most common areas of difficulty. I anticipate where you are going to have trouble, and help you overcome common mistakes before you make them.
Please choose me for your math tutor! Mrs. Linda also known as Miss Math.

Miss Linda is very knowledgeable in all math skills we needed, and is up to date on what we needed for 8th grade 'new' math' and preparing for the FSA Assessment. She is patient and does not waste time! We will be scheduling more lessons with her as needed.
Mrs. Linda helped my son review for his Geometry Finals! He will less nervous going into it. She was patient and made the session fun.
Mrs. M helped me prepare for the SAT math portion in less then two weeks. It is evident that she knows her stuff and has throughly researched the SAT test inside and out! She is patient and a great teacher. I have dyslexia and she knew how to help me even with that issue. I scored 50 points higher then my goal with just two weeks of her help! SHE IS AMAZING!! I would definitely recommend her to anyone that needs help in any type of math.
Spent extra time that was not originally scheduled to make sure my daughter was ready for mid-term exam. Thank you!!
Mrs. Linda was excellent! My daughter came home after only one session with her a changed person. I haven't seen her this happy since school started. She was so excited that she now understood Algebra she couldn't wait to show me how to do the problems they worked on.
Great help working through FLVS Algebra 1
Meaningful progress.......Linda has great experience teaching and that makes the lesson interesting and meaningful
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
After over 20 years teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2, SAT prep, Geometry and Analysis of Functions I am highly qualified to teach ACT Math. Since March 5th's newly introduced SAT, I have engaged in a self-imposed study comparing and contrasting ACT versus the new SAT. I recently prepared 3 students who took the new SAT and am encouraging one of them to pursue the ACT. I spent hours researching appropriate workbooks to use for both courses. I have compiled a formula study guide for my students to use and am making mini lessons for the trig component of the ACT.
Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, SAT prep
I taught Geometry at Countryside High School in Pinellas County Florida for many years. I am constantly updating myself on the latest versions of the Sunshine State Standards and the End of Course Test requirements in our state.
