Universite de Lyon/ Beirut Campus (Fr. and Leb. Law)
I have been tutoring French and Arabic in Tampa Bay area since 2005.
I grew up in a perfect bi-lingual environment and graduated in 1972 from Lyon university (Beirut Campus) with a double major degree: French and Lebanese Law.
Since then, I have been teaching Arabic and French, hence my long experience in teaching both those languages. I have been tutoring French and Arabic at Inlingua, Tampa since 2006. And since 2010 I teach officially French at Pinellas County Schools.
I served as a private Arabic tutor for a series of professionals in fields from law enforcement, federal agencies, marines and cryptography. I have worked as a French tutor for other professionals in fields from medicine, law, real estate, banking, insurance, and business, as well as individuals from the private sector, and especially adolescents seeking to improve their public school grades.
My various teaching methods have earned me a reputation of a conscientious, hard working individual who uses my initiative and logical good sense to juggle the demands of my different students, with regard to scheduling, program changes, curriculum needs, and social interaction, bonding with my students to the degree that they have all renewed their training contracts in order to continue learning with me.
I strive to always improve my image of a gentleman, respectful in my interactions with students, courteous, patient, caring, giving, with an infectious enthusiasm that brings the laziest student to my class session with all assignments completed. I have been tutoring French and Arabic in Tampa Bay area since 2005.

Michel is a true gem. His knowledge as a teacher, plus his native understanding of the French language has accelerated and deepened my understanding and pronunciation of the current curriculum in class. He has helped me integrate the knowledge I lost (it has been 7 years since my last French course) while helping me with my homework. It is a daunting task and I am grateful for his help.
It is a long process to teach an American boy the Arabic language, however, Mr. Michel is incredibly intelligent and patient with our son.
Prof. H. has an impressive understanding of not only the Arabic language, but the culture and history of the language as well, and is able to convey information in a very organized and easy to understand manner. He is realistic with expectations of students and is very, very accommodating to different, very specified needs. I remain engaged throughout the lesson and am motivated to continue learning throughout the week at home. Would highly recommend to any age group or learning level.
I am very happy I selected Michel as my Arabic tutor. He is an expert speaker of Arabic and a very patient teacher. Working with Michel is increasing my confidence in speaking and understanding Arabic. The time I spend with Michel seems to go by very quickly because I enjoy our lessons so much. I'm constrained by time and cost of the lessons from spending more time with Michel. I believe my lessons are a good value.
I am so glad to have come across Michel and am learning so much from him. He is a great person and a fantastic teacher. He is able to identify where I am having trouble and is able to teach me in a way that correlates with my way of learning. I look forward to continue learning from him and would definitely recommend him as a teacher to anybody who is looking for an excellent teacher!
Michel has been very helpful in directing my learning in Arabic. In the few lessons that we have completed, Michel has adequately determined my skill level which I have already attained in the language and determined appropriate reading and listening materials that will best suit my purpose. I look forward to our meetings and I leave each lesson with a feeling that my skills and knowledge of the Arabic language are advancing.
I can not say enough great things about Professor Michel H. He is patient, creative, involved, knowledgeable, and the two most important to me, dedicated and challenging. I absolutely recommend Prof. H to anyone interested in studying Arabic. I can imagine that he is as accomplished with the other languages that he teaches as well.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am not very fluent in English but I am definitely fluent in Arabic. That is because I was born in Lebanon, and Lebanon is an Arab country where Arabic is spoken. In other words, Arabic is my native language.
Besides going to school and then to college, ending up with a BA in Lebanese Law enhanced my proficiency in formal Arabic which differs in many aspects from Lebanese dialect.
