I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's in Creative Writing. In high school, I was a tutor for elementary students and picked up a love for teaching. After I graduated, I spent a school year substituting in my local public school system and realized that our modern education system is doing a disservice to students by emphasizing results over the process of learning itself. I then decided to travel to Spain and taught two years of English there in public schools and through private lessons. My degree was the result of my love of English, and teaching in Spain helped me hone my skills in teaching my native language. I also recently worked for a year as the writing tutor in my department while working toward my master's degree, during which time I offered guidance and proofreading on master's theses, application essays, and research assignments. It is my belief that teaching is not something done TO students, but WITH students. I promise to work with you to discover the teaching style that works for you, the student, as I too was a student of Spanish. I look forward to working together!

For Spanish speakers and learners, I have a B2 certification in Spanish through busuu and I'm studying to take the C1 official certification exam. I took three years of Spanish in high school but there's nothing like living in another country to learn another language!
