I love helping students to achieve learning in heights they thought they could never reach. As a student who graduated with honors and a current graduate student I understand the work it takes to achieve success in academics. As a result it is my endeavor to help students to become successful in their academics. I will do so through purpose driven tutoring, setting goals for the students and assessments. I will spend the necessary time to ensure that each student is making progress in their area of studies. I am also flexible and willing to work with the availability of both the students and the parents.
My tutoring techniques will ensure that the students become critical thinkers and are able to apply critical thinking in all areas of study. With this understanding is a philosophy that is embedded within me; I do not teach students what to think, but I teach them how to think. Teaching my students how to apply deductive reasoning will allow them to master any subject of study they pursue in life.
My philosophy and technique in tutoring come from my experience with students of all ages and also from my experience in academia. I currently graduated with a BS degree from Southeastern University with honors, so I know what it takes to be successful in education. I was also a substitute teacher at a school for children with learning disabilities and autism; this helped me to understand learning styles of all types of students. Lastly, I am a youth pastor and I tutor teenagers in my congregation who need help in their studies. With these experiences I can assure you that we will work together to achieve your current goals in your educational pursuit. I am looking forward to working with you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
