In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have played basketball for over ten years. I played on middle school and high school teams as the point guard. I understand zone and man defense, along with how to shoot a layup and a jump shot. Free throws are my specialty and I also know how to sprint down the floor.
My tutoring technique would focus on free throws, running drills, defensive stance, layup, dribbling blind-folded, and shooting.
My professional career is a television reporter and anchor. I was a weekend anchor in Kirksville, MO. Currently, I am a television reporter in Shreveport, LA. I have a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Jesse Jackson, and former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, all the way down to the average person walking the streets. I know what makes a good speaker and can identify problems in people's speech. I have to listen to people's speeches all the time and decide on what was most important. I would like to help people are who fear public speaking.
