CCSU New Britain (physics)
I will be in Hartford this summer, and am looking forward to tutoring math and physics. I have had good response from my geometry and algebra students. I also really enjoy tutoring in basic physics: Newton’s laws, the equations of motion, friction, and torque, and will talk at length about anything science.
I am a physics graduate, and have been through all the math classes through quantum physics. I am currently tutoring a few students in algebra and geometry, and seem to be having success in getting them to think about math in a way that helps them both understand it better, and to get through their tests at school. I have established a good connection with my students, can find ways to show why math is important, and encourage them to keep at it until the work pays off. I have a good manner in getting kids to visualize what the answer should look like, and a good way of working equations that kids can understand.
I generally am available most evenings after 7pm.

Jeff was very helpful and I learned a lot from him, he is on time and very polite. He would be great for anybody.
Jeff was easy to reach him by phone and very flexible to schedule tutoring.
My son (believe it or not) enjoyed his teaching as he was making him think about the problems and not only giving him rules and or methods, but rather how to intelligently solve problems.
I can tell that Jeff enjoys what he does and highly recommend him as the best tutor that my son has had so far.
Very knowledgeable of what he teaches and shows outstanding respect to student and parents.
I highly recommend Jeff.
Jeff started with my family this week 9/23/-9/272013 we have had two one hour sessions and my son actually
1) Likes his tutor
2) Seems to have a better understanding of what he was missing in class
I know it early in the year but my feelings are if you catch the problem early the stress that the student feels is less. We look forward to a long relationship with Jeff and would highly recommend him to other families. He is quiet and patient, he makes sure the student understands the material before rushing thru the lesson. I am truly blessed to find such a great tutor- bonus my son does not hate being tutored which is a great big plus.
We have Jeff Wednesday and Thursday 3:30-4:30pm and he does not run out the door at exactly 4:30pm if they are working on a problem he makes sure that my son understands the problems before leaving. So far its a perfect fit.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
