Florida State (Psychology)
My name is Kristopher G. I am 23 years old and am a graduate of Florida State University. My major was Psychology and I minored in Chemistry. After a year lay off I have decided to return to school and I plan to apply to FIU's Dietetic and Nutrition program in the summer of 2017. At first in my college career I wanted to enter the medical field however after shadowing different PAs (physicians assistant), some personal experience, and a few books I read I believe I can make the greatest health impact via Nutrition.
I spent my sophomore, junior, and senior years of college working at Hidden oaks elementary (Boynton Beach) and Gilchrest Elementary (Tallahassee). I worked with 3rd-5th graders and I greatly enjoyed my time there. I formed a good relationship with many students and I look forward to working with kids again. I am very comfortable working with children and I would consider myself to be very patient. I do not get frustrated if a child does not understand a concept or if i need to explain myself again or in further depth. My goal is concept comprehension which in turn will lead to good grades. Some relevant experience include helping my brother(13) and mother(classes from PBSC) in topics including Spanish, math, chemistry, and vocabulary. I also enjoyed helping the students at Gilchrest and Hidden Oaks during homework time. I would help the students generally 4th graders, however 3rd and 5th as well, with their homework and do my best to ensure comprehension. Homework time was 30-45 minutes daily after roll call.
I am very comfortable teaching any topic up to 10th grade including: Science (Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Nutrition, Exercise and Health topics), Math (Pre-algebra, algebra, Understanding data/graphs, slope intercept, word problems, Number concepts), and Spanish as well. Hello,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken several maths with algebra as the foundation such as trigonometry, pre calculus and calculus at the high school and college level.
