I am currently a dean at a middle school in Palm Beach County. I have spent 10 years in education and have taught a wide variety of subjects and grade levels. I spent 6 years teaching reading at the high school and middle school levels. While teaching reading, I tutored elementary students in both math and reading and high school students in math. I have also taught world cultures (ancient civilizations), civics and american history.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
