I have been a special educator for over 35 years and have taught reading, writing & math skills to K-6th grade students. I utilize student's strength to increase learning, assess needs and develop an individualized plan for success. Student's thrive using a multi-sensory learning approach, hands-on techniques and manipulatives. I have used Wilson Reading, Touch Math, Verbalizing/Visualizing and a variety of computer-based programming. I am responsible, patient, and committed, and would enjoy working with your child.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught students with ADD/ADHD and am a special educator with an active Florida teaching certificate.
I have taught elementary age students with a language learning disability better known as dyslexia. This manifests primarily as a phonological deficit (understanding and accessing the sound structure of language), which can result in reading, spelling and writing problems. Most students benefit from a multi-sensory, structured language approach and need direct instruction to fill in the learning gaps. I have found that the Wilson Reading Program provides thorough, sequential and repetitive skills to improve reading, spelling and writing skills.
I have taught students in K-5 and am a special educator with an active Florida teaching certificate in Exceptional Student Ed. K-12. I also am endorsed to teach ESOL students.
