Julie is absolutely fabulous! Not only is she a wonderful person she is a terrific tutor. Our daughter is a senior with great grades, is very involved in various school activities and has a learning disability. As a result of her learning disability she doesn't do well on standardized tests. Her SAT scores did not meet the minimum requirement for several of the colleges she is interested in. She had one last chance to retake the SAT for the third time, with only 4 weeks to prepare. We hired Julie and they worked very diligently on strategy in that 4 week time span. Julie's caring, easy manner made my daughter feel very comfortable right away. After she took the SAT she continued to work with Julie an additional 2 weeks to prepare for the ACT. We are thrilled that our daughter's SAT scores came back with an increase of over 250 points, putting our daughter above the minimum requirements and she is now receiving acceptance letters from several colleges. In addition, her ACT scores improved by 3 composite points too. We are extremely happy with the results and our daughter enjoyed working with Julie. We highly recommend Julie!
Julie did a great job working with our son to prepare for the ACT as well as review his college essay. She picked up the ACT preparation from a previous tutor (who was also great) and easily picked up the ball to move forward.
Ms. Julie has been tutoring my daughter two times a week for several months. She is very knowledgeable, not only in tutoring techniques, but also in the knowledge of the subjects. She has been tutoring my daughter in High School Algebra and Science. She is patient and encouraging. She is always prompt and professional. I could highly recommend Ms. Julie.
This site was extremely helpful in finding a tutor who will work with our busy schedule and help our child focus on the task at hand. Mrs. Julie made learning fun and exciting for my daughter and we have seen a dramatic improvement in just three visits.
Julie is very good with my son. She has him engaged and is teaching him new tricks to improve his reading skills. So glad we found her.
My son, Logan is in Kindergarten and struggles with learning to read. He has had three tutoring sessions with Julie and I have already seen improvement in his efforts to sound out words and memorize his sight words. He is actively reading the small "BOB" books that she recommended.
Logan is very comfortable with Julie and enjoys their time together.
I appreciate that Julie always provides me with a thorough summary of what she reviewed with Logan after each session.
She has some great tricks that we reinforce each night to keep him interested in reading his words.
I am now very hopfull that Logan will be more than prepared for 1st Grade next year!
Initial meeting left us feeling very positive. She seems to have very many tools, tricks, and helps, and seemed to really want to help. We will proceed with lessons right away.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
