In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. My professional teaching certificate is in Elementary K-6. I have completed my Master's in Education with concentration in ESOL in May 2016. My teaching experience is from kinder to fourth grade.
