I understand that not everybody feels comfortable with math, and I adapt to students' individual learning styles. I'm married with four grown children, each pursuing an enjoyable career.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I'm a retired Vermont high school math teacher, and I'm very experienced teaching Algebra 1, as well as all other high school mathematics courses, including A.P. Calculus. Last semester, I served three days a week at a local Vermont high school helping students one-on-one with homework and test preparation in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, and Calculus. I'm a friendly, easygoing teacher, and I understand the difficulties many students experience in starting to learn about variables, equations, and factoring in Algebra 1. I'd be happy to tutor your student.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I'm qualified by WyzAnt to teach algebra 2 as one of my subjects.
Calculus,

Calculus

I have taught A.P. Calculus for many years in Vermont public high schools with excellent success rates among my students. Mostly I have taught the AB level course, but I have also had experience teaching BC level calculus. As I tell my students, calculus is a very practical branch of mathematics because it is the mathematical study of change, and since everything in our world changes constantly, there are important applications of calculus in many fields.
Geometry,

Geometry

I have taught high school Geometry for many years in Vermont public schools, including both classical Euclidean Geometry with proofs and applied and interactive geometry. It is one of my favorite subjects to teach, as it involves both practical applications and universal principles of logic. For some students, including myself, Geometry has been a "breakthrough" subject that opens up a rewarding world of mathematical problem-solving.

SAT Math Confidence

Andy did a great job getting our rising senior ready for the SAT. Taught her some areas of math she hadn't learned in school, and explained proper use of the calculator for the section of the test that allows use of the calculator.
