Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Financial Accounting

I have been working in accounting for over 25 years. I hold an MBA in Accounting from Baker College. My GPA was 4.0.

General Computer

In addition to having over twenty years experience in using all Microsoft Office applications, I can also program Access and Paradox. I have designed programs and databases for the various organizations I was employed by. Formal college courses include:
Baker College-Management Information Systems-A
Columbia College-Intro to Computer Info Systems-A
Trenton State-Intro Data Processing (Fortran)-A

Managerial Accounting

I hold an MBA in Accounting. I have been teaching Managerial Accounting for over 10 years. I was Chief Financial Officer for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4225 for six years. While this was more Fund Accounting it involved Managerial Accounting as well.

Microsoft Access

I have been programming Microsoft Access and prior to that Paradox. While working for the mortgage industry, I was on the team that began MIRRS, which attempted to marry WordPerfect with Paradox data capabilities to produce mortgage documents. During my employment with Osceola County I designed, in Access, the data base for the first solid waste pickups in Osceola County. This database was designed to be used by a person completely unfamiliar with Access. It monitored collections, paid the haulers based on number of households and required only entry of addresses by the user, calculations were done in seconds, by pushing a button.

Microsoft Publisher

I use publisher for various projects for over 20 years.
I am responsible for the design of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars newsletter publication. Working for Osceola County for 10 years I used publisher to record meetings and inform the County constituents.

Public Speaking

Columbia College transcripts show an A in Speech.
As a public servant I spent over 10 years giving speeches to communicate to constituents.
As an officer in the Veterans of Foreign Wars I had to publically speak at least once per month. Taught at college as well.

Tax Preparation

Certification by H&R Block 2014. I passed the IRS approved course with a grade of 93%. I currently prepare taxes as a hobby.
