Hi, I'm Sara! I have both a Bachelor of Science (University of Florida, GPA 3.98) and Master of Engineering (Boston University, GPA 3.97) degree in biomedical engineering. I was never the engineering student with a photographic memory and no need to study. I spent the beginning of my college years in office hours and tutoring centers receiving help on homework and exam preparation. I learned the importance of additional help outside of class, and this is how I was able to become a successful engineer.

After becoming familiar with how to succeed in courses, I wanted to pass along the same help I required throughout math and science classes. During my undergraduate degree, I was a teaching assistant for one year in which I helped sophomore and junior level engineering students with the course Mechanics of Materials. I was also a peer advisor for the biomedical engineering department; this role allowed me to interact with younger students and mentor them regarding course selection and extracurricular activities.

Prior to college, I was the Vice President of the Math National Honor Society at my high school. I scheduled and conducted after-school math tutoring for other high school students in courses such as Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. As I just recently graduated, I took many of these courses within the past 10 years and continuously built upon them throughout my engineering degrees.

I have a strong passion for mentoring and teaching, and would love to continue doing so while I am searching for a full time career and highly available! I also have experience with remote learning as my last semester of graduate school was conducted online. Please feel free to reach out if you or your child has a question or a tutoring request. I am continuously available and easily accessible online. I'm excited to get to know students and pass on my knowledge!

Amazing tutor!

I had requested Sara's help for an engineering statics class and she was very good at explaining the topics I had requested help with. Her method of teaching made everything so much easier to understand and she definitely went out of her way to create guides for the material so I could easily learn it. She is very knowledgeable!
