In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

With the help of different gadgets and techniques I correct student's pencil grip.
I use play dough, sponges and clothespins with students to exercise fine motor and tripod grip.
I teach students to write from top to bottom, left to right and adequate grip both in print and cursive.
I have 3 college credits in Student Life. In this course I learned how to develop educational skills such as reading, listening, critical thinking, and test-taking. I also developed personal success skills such as time and stress management. I teach my students these skills.
When I teach and tutor I always promote a growth mindset and explain to my students how the brain has the ability to learn new things as long as we challenge it.
The attitude a student has towards himself, the subject and the teacher will influence his desire and availability to learn, so I provide an environment of trust, confidence and encouragement.
