Hey! Just a little bit about me: I am a recent graduate of Brigham Young University - Provo. I completed my undergrad with a dual major, earning my Bachelor's degrees in Microbiology and Public Health with a minor in Chemistry. I am currently working towards PA school and am using tutoring as a way of giving back as well as staying up-to-date academically.
While in high school, I had some pretty sweet opportunities to tutor my peers in a variety of subjects. I found that not only did I enjoy teaching for my own personal development and learning, but I also found great satisfaction in knowing that I could make someone's life easier just by helping them get a grip on their education. In high school, I was high achieving but struggled with Chemistry and it caused me to hit a low point that affected my other grades as well; I lost a lot of drive and self-assurance after that. Because of this, I understand just how important it is for students to believe in themselves and have a positive outlook on their education. I have been formally tutoring for 3 years now and I love helping those that need that extra push! If I can help, I will bend over backwards to do so. Everyone deserves the most out of their education; that's a hard thing to get if you find yourself falling behind. I hope to help you overcome any challenges you may be having and help you regain the confidence you deserve.

While in high school I undertook a number of AP classes and when it came time for exams I had no issue scoring high marks. I am familiar with a number a subjects, science being my main specialty. Being a Microbiology major (with chemistry) I tend to focus more on the life sciences but I am also proficient in math and English. Currently I am a Teaching Assistant/Mentor for a student development class at BYU where we teach study techniques as well as skills to be a better/faster reader so I can help in that department too.

I have had a solid grasp on math since middle school and throughout high school I was in advanced math classes all the way up through AP Calculus. During that time I was in a math club where we got to spend a bit of time each semester tutoring others in math. Since then, I have only taken Statistics in college but I continue to use algebra and some calculus concepts in my science classes so I am proficient in those skills.

I have a unique love for science where it is literally a part of who I am (Ha!) and I just about eat, breath, and sleep it. In high school I was a part of a Medical lab assistant program where we learned about health science and became Certified Phlebotomists, I also took AP Chemistry and AP Biology as well as earned a near perfect score on the Biology SAT. Now in college, science is what I do. I am starting my 4th year and have covered Molecular Biology, Microbiology, the hands on labs, Anatomy with cadaver lab, Bio-Organic Chemistry, Gen Chem 1 and 2 with lab, general biology, and Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 with lab.

If you need any assistance with any subject that sounds like it might be something I can help you navigate, please contact me! If you would like to get to know me better or want to schedule a lesson, do the same and help me, help you. I am excited to learn together!

I have my Bachelor's in Microbiology which involved work in classes such as basic biology, microbiology, molecular biology, virology, parasitology, and other related classes and labs. I also took AP Biology in high school and tutored during my time there as well. I received a near perfect score on the Biology SAT Subject Test.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

I took AP Chemistry in high school and have my minor in Chemistry from BYU - Provo. I have taken Intro to Bio-Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry 1 and 2 with Lab, Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 with Lab, and Analytical Chemistry. My specialty is in General Chemistry with basic Organic Chemistry concepts. A lot of people struggle with the intro gen chem classes, but once they understand, a whole new world is opened to them and they are set to succeed in later science classes. In high school I tutored underclassmen that were taking AP Chem on a weekly basis. In college, I have been consistently tutoring chemistry for about 3.5 years. One particular tutoring moment was with my roommate who was in the same class I was and was struggling; everyday after class we would sit and do the homework together and I would walk her through the topics we went over in class and would make my own practice problems for her to work through. I also helped her understand how to utilize the text book and get the most out of each reading to have a better grasp on what we were doing. I use some of these techniques when I tutor today.

Physiology,

Physiology

I took Anatomy with a cadaver lab during my first year at BYU. I then took Physiology a year later followed by an advanced physiology lab that established my love for the human body and the miracle that it is. I excelled in both classes and was often found leading study groups and tutoring friends in the subject semesters down the road. MY last semester at BYU I took a Pathophysiology class that allowed me to gain an even better grasp on the topic that has helped me as I have shadowed doctors and PAs for my grad school application.

Patient and willing to go at any pace

She's encouraging and completely willing to take things as slow as needed with much repetition. She understood my questions even when I wasn't able to explain them fully.
