About Jonathan

I've been messing with computers for at least 10 years now. 5 of those years have been professionally(job). I write software, and keep myself up to date on computing, technology trends! It's been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember! To that end, I found myself in the position at several different places, where I end up teaching computer and software concepts on the job site and where applicable. Experiencing some success with that, I figured I'd just go for it all the way.

I really am a fan of teaching since I learn just as much from the experience. Being in the field as well, I also have practical experience and tips/tricks when you're ready to move on to become a professional programmer:). I currently reside in Jacksonville, Florida. I've been living here since I was about 12 years old. Went to a local college (University of North Florida), and graduated with my B.S. in Computer Science. Sometimes I go on programming sprees where I will try out a new programming framework/language/style, to understand the ideas behind it. I find being exposed to alternative ways of programming really fosters critical thinking.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
