About Lauren

I have a passion for helping and seeing students succeed. It will be a success of mine to see you get the grades that you want and deserve.

As far as teaching style, I use a lot of teach back method and getting you to explain things to me that way I can see what you know and truly understand, and I help fill in the gaps. It was one of the methods that best help me grow throughout my education and I hope it will work for you. If we meet regularly, I plan on providing follow up assignments and I expect that you will put the effort into learning the topic after our learning session is over.

I have not had formal education on teaching, but I have taught students the violin ranging from ages 6-10, I have tutored a freshman while I was a senior in high school, and I currently help one of my peers in college with pharmacology, so I am versatile to work with any age group.

I've enjoyed math all through put my educational career even while my classmates hated it! The tips and tricks I have picked up have really taken me far and I'd be happy them with you so that you can also succeed.

At the end of high school I tested out of all my college math courses up until calculus 1 through AP exams, IB exams, and placement tests.

In the pharmacy college admissions test (PCAT) I scored in the 99th percentile for the math section.

I thoroughly enjoy chemistry and this enjoyment played a big part in my career choice to pursue pharmacy.

I tested out of college general chemistry 1 at the end of high school and made As in general chem and organic chemistry up until organic chemistry 2.

In the pharmacy college admissions test (PCAT) I scored in the 97th percentile for the chemistry section.

I enjoy working with students and would be happy to help you out when my schedule allows.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Chemistry

I took AP chem in high school and scored a 4, which tested me out of Chem 1 and 2 in college.
