I have been a 5th grade math teacher for the past two years. I work in an inner city school so I am extremely familiar with techniques for working with small groups and one on one. I am well versed in all elementary math from Kindergarten to 5th grade and can help students with the new Common Core math.
I am also a history major from college, having a wide array of expertise on different historical time periods. I enjoy working with students on a one on one level and have no greater joy than to see a child persevere and work hard so that they may experience success.
Currently, I am a 5th grade math teacher with knowledge of required math standards for K-5. I served as President of a college organization that required extensive public speaking and helped coach others to speak publicly.
I have Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in International Affairs. I have a wide array of expertise including in, but not limited to, American History, European History, Economics, World History, Geography, etc...

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
