Ashford University (History, Political S)
I am a Summa Cum Laude graduate and have a Bachelor's degree in History as well as a BA in Political Science and Government. I am a member of Alpha Sigma Lamda National Honor Society and Golden Key International Honor Society. I have mixed experience in tutoring between online, one-on-one, and in a classroom environment. Past subjects I have tutored are history, traditional elementary math, and English as a Second Language. I'm passionate about learning and educating others.
I am passionate about learning so much I plan on earning a PhD in History and becoming a full-time tenured History professor in the future. I want to not only assist your child in their time of need, I want to inspire them to be more. Seeing the fire and desire for learning grow in my students brings joy into my life. I look forward to passing on the hunger for learning to your student.
My IB History teacher immersed his students in history and fostered a love of history for all of them. I strive to instill that same passion in my students. I'm a two time Black History Bowl winner and Academic Decathlon medalist.
My main areas of interest are American History, Geography, WWII, Political Science, and government.
On the Political Science and Government side, not only do I have a BA in the subject, I have 18 years of experience in politics and have worked on many campaigns. For those students struggling with Government/Civics courses, I provide a unique perspective on the subject area that can be beneficial to the student.
Tutoring sessions can be one-on-one or online. Once I meet the student, I will tailor instruction based on their needs. Feel free to contact me for additional information or to schedule lessons. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated with a 3.97 GPA in my Political Science and Government program. I have a great understanding of the factors and statistics which go into politics. Additionally, I have a strong foundation in the principles and structure of government. My capstone paper on the Kyoto Protocol and the United States received great praise. I also have 18 years of political experience including campaigning and outreach.
