The City College of New York (CUNY) (Graduate Coursework)
I'm originally from Poland where I graduated with a BA in International Relations. After moving to the United States my educational journey began as an ESL student. It seemed frustrating at times, but hard work paid off, and after 1.5 year I was able to start my education at LaGuardia Community College in NYC. I majored in Social Science and Humanities with Honors and soon after transferred to City College of New York (City University of New York) to continue my education. I double majored in International Studies and History and graduated with Honors. I am continuing my education at City College to pursue my Master's Degree in Modern History of Eastern and Central Europe.
During my time as a student I worked as a Peer Mentor and College Assistant. I believe that being a person who was born and raised in a different country, but at the same time having the experience of studying in the United States, helps to approach subjects from a unique perspective that could be valuable to students.
Since 2006 I have been involved with the Pilsudski Institute of America, a Polish historical society, where I am responsible for the project titled "Silesian Uprisings 1919-1921." There I coordinate work of over 40 volunteers. This is fascinating work especially being able to work with primary documents. My responsibility in this project has been to teach others, most of whom don't have a background in history, how to read such documents.
I hope that my skills and experience will prove valuable to help students have a broader perspective on the world and improve their ability to be self learners.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I'm a native speaker of Polish. I was born and raised in Poland. In terms of education besides completing elementary and high school in Poland I received BA in International Relations from accredited college back in Poland. After moving to the United States I became involved with the Pilsudski Institute of America, an organization which focuses on education and research where since 2006 I'm a program coordinator of a project Silesian Uprisings 1919-1921 which is conducted only in Polish language.
