I am a professional tutor who left the classroom to form my own tutoring company. Over the eleven years (2003-2014) that I have operated this business, I have tutored more than 600 students at all levels (K-12) and college. I am proud to say that I enjoyed a success rate of greater than 96%. Of this percentage, the majority (95%) went off to college and still keep in contact when they need special help or just to discuss a topic.
I relocated to Minnesota to work with the Mayo System. I like working with learners (students) because at the end of the day I enjoy observing that look of success and achievement on their faces. I excel in math, science tutoring, reading, give help with "term" papers, and whatever course the student is pursuing. I am a perfectionist and consider "C's as failure. I taught Biology at the college level (laboratory portion); Biology and Chemistry at High School Level, math and sciences at middle school level, and prepare students for most of the standardized tests to get into different institutions (ACT/SAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, AHPAT, and PCAT). I also tutor students at the undergraduate and graduate level.
I consider maths as a language and when one learns a different language, there is always that confidence that comes with it. With my tutoring, the student must learn why math is important and how we use it in our everyday life. I find that when we allow students to see the math application to our everyday activities, they are no longer disinterested in the course and look forward to learning something new everyday.
I have a lot to offer the student who is in need of help to reach his/her true potential. I have been most fortunate in helping students from diverse backgrounds achieve success in school. I not only teach, I also learn from my students how best to prepare a lesson so that they get the most out of it. Over the years, I have always stood by my guarantee that "my student will succeed" and so far, I have not retracted that guarantee. I look forward to meeting students who enjoy learning and those who want to enjoy learning. Hi,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
