As an alumnus of North Carolina State University (BS degrees in Pulp & Paper Science Technology and Chemical Engineering), currently working in the paper industry, and mentor to young adults, I am very familiar with the dedication and effort that must be applied in order to succeed. Many times, the success that we seek is discovered through the encouragement and assistance of others. My passion for mathematics and tutoring allowed me to assist other students in high school and college. I sought to provide the spark that would make the difference in the success of my peers.
After relocating to Jacksonville, Florida in 1995, I tutored mathematics with Sylvan Learning Center for three years until my wife and I started our family. For the past 10 years, I have continued to work with young adults in mathematics. In addition, I have worked with adults seeking to continue their education. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students.
