My name is Kathryn and I have my Master's degree in Biology. I have several years of post secondary education experience and I began tutoring while I was in high school. I enjoy explaining concepts and understand the fact that each person learns in a different fashion. That is one of the greatest joys in teaching, to help a student understand a previously muddy topic. It is the proverbial "lightbulb" that turns on. I have experience in Science (all levels), Math, English, Reading, Pharmacology and subject specific test prep. I am told I am easy to talk to and that I break down the most complex subject into understandable terms. Please let me know if I can help! Hello all,

Kathryn is an excellent teacher. She has a way about her that makes you feel incredibly comfortable and she is wonderful at breaking the information down piece by piece.
This was my son's first lesson, so we have a long way to go. Kathryn will definitely have her work cutout for her, but we think she is the person for the job.
This was our first appointment with Kathy but my daughter is already looking toward her next meeting. Great personality! She corresponded with us and promptly replied to all messages we hope to have a great relationship in the future with Kathryn.
Kathryn is a huge help to me with Chemistry. She's super patient and motivating. I'm so glad to have found her. You won't regret choosing her! She's brilliant.
Kathryn was very warm and friendly with our daughter which made all the difference. She was patient and helped her work through the problems. It was also great that she focused on learning how she learns best. Thanks Kathryn!
Kathryn know what is needed to get high score in the exam, and her way of teaching very easy and simple, her commitment is excellence, I recommend her for this SAT review classes.
Kathyrn was awesome and very patient. I came to our first session with not a lot prepared for her to go over with me but she was still able to pull together material from the pulmonary system that really helped me.
Kathryn was able to assess my daughter Jessica's starting point to tutor algebra. She is very knowledgeable, patient and understanding.
I look forward to her tutoring my daughter.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took genetics as an undergraduate and then I took molecular genetics as a graduate student. I always like to start out with terminology, only to be sure that the foundation is built. When I work with the math of genetics, I also like to talk through why the math is being done and what the results mean.
I have a masters degree with course work focused on molecular biology. I have taken both organic chemistry one and two. I also have taken graduate level biochemistry which builds on organic chemistry.
I am a certified pharmacy technician and also have begun giving lectures in the college I work for in pharmacology. Also I teach pharmacology as a part of the current course I am teaching. My methods include discussing the math and science behind pharmacology as well as the practical aspects of this subject.
I have studied ASL for over ten years. I have interpreted when the situation warranted and have experience teaching sign language. My teaching method involves lessons only in sign so that the students learn by example.
