About Martha

Bio

My name is Martha H. I have two grown children, three grandchildren, and one great - grandchild. I have been involved in the teaching profession since the early 1970's. I have taught students ranging in age from preschool to high school, from beginning readiness skills to algebra. I also tutored at Florida State College at Jacksonville (then FCCJ) for two years. My name is Martha H. I have two grown children, three grandchildren, and one great - grandchild. I have been involved in the teaching profession since the early 1970's. I have taught students ranging in age from preschool to high school, from beginning readiness skills to algebra. I also tutored at Florida State College at Jacksonville (then FCCJ) for two years. In 2005 I became involved in teaching the VPK (Voluntary PreKindergarten) here in Florida, and continued in that field for several years. I am currently retired and looking for part-time work outside the classroom. I am formally certified in Specific Learning Disabilities (K-12), Emotionally Handicapped (K - 12), and PreK 3 - 3rd Grade. When students are struggling, I have the unique ability to figure out how they think, and how to help them overcome their difficulties. There is no greater satisfaction for me than to see that "light" come on in their eyes when they finally get a concept that we have been working on. I believe in a hands on, positive, and practical application approach when teaching.

Kind and patient tutor! I’ve actually seen an improvement in my son’s great since he’s been tutoring with Miss Martha! My son has been diagnosed with ADHD but she made the learning lesson fun and interesting for him to pay attention. I highly recommend!

She's great and helpful... very hands on with my daughter. To teach an ADHD child can be difficult. You have to have patience. My daughter struggles with math this is our 1st week but she is really excited.
