My name is Willie, I'm a student at the University of North Florida studying Mathematics. I've been tutoring math for over one year. As a math tutor I experience in tutoring Pre-Algebra, Algebra (1 & 2), Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus 1 and 2, as well as AP Calculus (AB and BC).
As a tutor I have experience with a variety of students from high school dual enrollment to adult students going back to school. I also have had the chance to tutor for the College Reach-Out Program, a program that provides tutoring and mentoring to low-income students who obtain grades detrimental to their success and advancement in completing grade school and starting higher education. In the College Reach-Out Program I've tutored and mentored numerous students in middle school and high school whom were not doing well in math. Currently I substitute teach at the middle and high school grade levels.
I generally use a "hands-on" approach to teaching that involves a lot of interaction between the student and I. However, my specific methods vary according to the learning style of the student.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken the class in college as well as middle school. In both classes I passed with a "B" in the first time and "A" in college. I've also had the opportunity to tutor the subject in college.
