I love to teach! I love to help students learn!
I am a fully qualified teacher, and I have taught children, teens, as well as adults. I also work with GED students, graduate students and English as a Second Language students. In addition, have coached a lot of writers with their books. I have just completed my PhD degree!
My students not only enjoy their tutoring sessions but find personal success and achievement.
Here's what I believe. I believe that every single child and student can find success in all school subjects. I believe success in school is an important step in successful life skills. I believe everyone is special - with unique skills of their own – and that tutoring should be individualized. I believe a tutor should make tutoring a positive experience and build self-confidence in all students as well as building skill sets. I believe that once you make a decision to 'go for it' you can achieve your goals faster than you think – and have more fun than you ever believed possible in the process.
I hold a PhD degree, a master's degree, a bachelor of education degree and a bachelor of arts degree. I also hold a certificate which qualifies me as a Teacher of English as a Second & Foreign Language (TESL/TEFL). I am qualified to teach elementary school, middle school, high school, college, graduate school as well as adult learners. I love to teach! I love to help students learn!

I am more than pleased with Ms. Kaye!! She is an incredibly encouraging instructor. Ms. Kaye helped me prepare for the GRE and prepare an outstanding and competitive application to the doctoral program at The University of Florida. I am sooo proud to say that I have been accepted into the program and I attribute this success to the work which was done with Ms. Kaye. There is no way I could have done this on my own. It was worth every penny and amount of time spent (even though we were on a tight time schedule). Thank you!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!! GO GATORS!!!!
If I were you I would call Ms. Kaye for immediate help!!! She gets the job done!!!
Wonderful person, and tutor. Patient, warm, fun, enthusiastic, personable, professional, reliable and highly qualified. Only population I would not recommend for is dyslexia and dysgraphia, as these students require Orton-Gillingham certification/experience/expertise. Students with dyslexia/dysgraphia generally do not respond well to non-O-G approaches, even one-on-one, and even with a wonderful tutor who is otherwise very experienced.
Kaye is an excellent tutor with good strategies for teaching. She approaches each lesson with a systematic plan for critical and high order thinking.
My daughter is in second grade and we had our 1st session with Kaye this week. My daughter absolutely loved her. Kaye kept her very engaged and focused, unlike at home. I sat in on the session to pick up some tips and her patience, and soft demeanor was key. She is very focused, very thorough, and it really seems like she cares. I am excited to see how my daughter progresses with more time spent with Kaye.
Dr. Kaye has been an inspiration during these months she and I have worked together. Her care and concern for you is evident when she is tutoring.
I contacted Dr. Kaye begging for help preparing for the GRE. In the two weeks of our tutoring sessions, I have noticed a drastic improvement in both my abilities AND my confidence. My scores on practice exams and drills have risen by a good ten to fifteen percent. She is extremely patient and provides clear explanations and beneficial strategies to use. Very knowledgeable, and truly cares about her students' well-being. If you need a tutor, I DEFINITELY recommend contacting Dr. Kaye!
I accidentally came across WyzAnt while using Google to try to find a local tutor in our area. We are new up here and don't really know anyone and the people we do know did not know off hand of any tutors to recommend.
I found WyzAnt and searched through the available people who tutor in the area in which we were searching. Finding Kaye K. was easy and an excellent match. I couldn't be happier.
Also, the payment system makes it so much easier for Kaye K. to receive her payments and for me to track those payments. I've used other tutoring institutes in the past and not having invoices and sometime inaccurate times listed was a huge distraction. WyzAnt takes all the issues and distractions out of the process so we can all focus on what we are there to deal with, tutoring my son.
I'm overjoyed to have found Kaye K. and to be using WyzAnt.
This was his first session and he seemed to enjoy it. I hope that this will help him become a confident reader. Thanks Ms. K!
My son dropped out of school over a year and half ago. We used several tutors to provide home schooling to help him finish his high school years. Nothing seemed to work and I was at my wits end. I found Kaye through the Wyzant website and after speaking with her decided to have her help my son. He has had learning disorder issues that were obvious from the second grade but we all decided to help him finish the GED program with Kaye's help. She set out a very optimistic schedule with him and I was doubtful that he would be able to accomplish it in that timeline. In less than 3 months he completed successfully his GED!! She skillfully scheduled him to complete those areas of his strengths in order to show him that indeed he could succeed and built off that. It absolutely worked. He would go through spells of lack of confidence and she relentlessly convinced him that he could and would do it. Our family will be eternally grateful to Kaye. She allowed my son to experience success in a way that he has never been able to. Kaye is truly a wonderful person and a gifted teacher.
My daughter had always been an A student in Honors World History which everyone knows is extremely difficult. After a move to another state, her grades were failing in AP World History (even more difficult). She continued to be diligent in her class work and studying but there was still a disconnect that even the teacher did not understand. We thought a tutor could help, and we found Ms. Kaye . She has basically retaught every ounce of World History to my daughter, and has filled in every blank in order for her to succeed. My daughter has been taught invaluable study skills and strategies that I'm sure transfer over to her other subject areas. Her grades have come up to a respectable grade, which is impressive in a subject as difficult as AP World. I have no doubt in my mind that my daughter will continue to succeed as a result of Ms. Kaye's intelligence and teaching methods!
My son is 15 years old and has been labeled special needs in the public school system. He had little reading skills and no basic knowledge of numbers. I spoke with Kaye and she started tutoring him about 6 weeks ago, two to three times a week. My son is now reading, writing sentences, and counting at a very fast pace. Most important, he has high self esteem since he is learning and understanding. She has given me hope for my son, when for years, the school system has passed him through labeled special needs. He loves his sessions with Kaye.I would highly recommend her at any age level of tutoring needs.
Tutor Kaye helped me edit my personal statement. She was very helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. She was extremely fast to respond to my emails, thoroughly explained what she would do, and took no time to fix my statement on such a short notice. My paper turned out to be better than I had expected. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.Ed degree. I began my teaching career in an elementary school. I was successful in significantly improving scores especially in language arts -- in fact my class improved to such a degree that they wrote and published the first school newspaper. I also played a role in reviewing and editing grammar materials for use in public schools.
In addition to being a professional teacher and coach, I also run a new technology association with over 4000 members. As the Executive Director, my online marketing skills have grown this organization from a handful of members to over 4000 in just three years. In addition, I have used my marketing and media skills to create a series of articles, which have been published in national publications. And finally, I have developed strategic marketing plans for authors which resulted in six figure publishing deals for them with major publishing houses. Finally, I have been the executive producer and host of my own TV series on PBS, a project which I conceived and marketed to them successfully.
I hold a Bachelors of Education degree which qualifies me to teach elementary school and middle school subjects such as phonics.
I have done both paid and unpaid presentations to many major corporations as well as clubs and groups on a wide variety of topics and was frequently invited back to speak again!
I have a PhD in pastoral ministry and a master's degree in Biblical studies from Trinity Bible College and Seminary.
